How it Works
Many loyalty programmes in Ireland work on a system of points and rewards. Lidl Plus App offers special perks and benefits to its members, rewarding you with every euro you spend. Using the example below, we’ll show you how you could earn a €5 reward based a standard points-per-euro spent rewards programme.
How do I earn points?
Loyalty card programmes such as Lidl Plus App often award you a set number of points with each purchase. Here is an example of how this might work:
Earn 2 points for every €1 you spend as a member of Lidl Plus App. This might change based on your status level as higher status levels often earn more points per euro spent. For example Tier 1 members might earn 2 points for every €1 spent, while Tier 2 members could earn 4 points and Tier 3 members get 6 points.
Redeeming Rewards
Since the rewards are typically recurring, the number of points per euro you’d earn at Lidl Plus App naturally increases the value of every point and leads to a greater rewards-redemption value. Let’s take a look at how this could play out across multiple tiers of membership.
Tier 1: Let’s say Tier 1 members earn 2 points for every €1 they spend. If every 500 points gets you a €5 reward, then you’re effective points redemption rate is 2.00%.
Tier 2: If Tier 2 members spend €1 and get 4 points then they would be redeeming every 500 points for a €5 reward at the rate of 4.00% back. This is double the 2.00% rate they’d be getting as a Tier 1 loyalty card member.
Tier 3: Once you make it to Tier 3 in the programme, you’d be earning 6 points for every €1 spent. When redeeming 500 points for a €5 voucher, this equates to a 6.00% rate of redemption on your points. This is triple the 2.00% earning rate of Tier 1 members and 50% more than the 4.00% rate earned by Tier 2 members.
Lidl Plus App and many other loyalty schemes in Ireland may structure the point-earning this way, with rewards subsequently issued in the form of a voucher that has a unique code. When shopping online, you’d be able to quickly apply your Lidl Plus App voucher and reduce the price of your shopping cart accordingly.
Earning Bonus Points
There also may be bonus points opportunities where you can get credit for partaking in activities that are not related to making purchases. This could be a great way to increase the value of your Lidl Plus App membership, and we’ll break this down here as well. For example, a common example that loyalty card schemes in Ireland like to offer is a signup bonus where you could see up to 500 points credited to your account just for joining. This is a great way to get you off to a strong start as you work toward earning a reward as a loyalty programme member.
Lidl Plus App Sign Up Bonus (75 points)Follow the programme on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram (40 points)Share a Facebook Post or Retweet the programme’s content (20 points)Enter your birthday in your programme account profile (65 points)Post a review of a recent purchase (65 points) and add a photo to that review (75 points). Refer a Friend
Lidl Plus App is always looking for new members and brands in this position often offer special bonuses for referring your friends to join. When this promotion is active, you’ll find a unique referral code in your Lidl Plus App account, which you can share with your friends. When your friend joins, they would get a Lidl Plus App voucher (usually €5-€20) that can be used on a future purchase. Lidl Plus App will, as a bonus, also credit you with a voucher for the same amount.
Points & Rewards Expiration
Generally speaking points will have an expiration period of around 12 months, especially if your account slips into inactivity. However, some programs do not subject their points and rewards to any expiration at all. Lidl Plus App may change their expiration rules from time to time, so it’s always a good idea to check
their rewards website for the latest expiry information.
Missing Points for a Transaction or Visit?
One common problem among loyalty programme members in Ireland is that many people forget to identify themselves as a member when paying. Lidl Plus App may allow you to retroactively earn credit for your missing transaction. Just
contact SoLoyal to get your missing points credited.
Terms & Exclusions
Lidl Plus App, like many of the popular loyalty schemes in Ireland, may not allow you to earn points on sale items or when purchasing gift cards. However, points are typically earned when using the gift card for purchases. Their
main website should have more info about that.
